Yoni Love: Ancient Feminine Wisdom

Yoni love is a path to connect to our ancient feminine wisdom.

I love being in deep conversation with other women about yoni love, sexuality, sensuality, pleasure, desire; about how all of these things are inter-connected to our divine feminine wisdom, to our ancestral wisdom, and to the heartbeat of the life force held deep within the cosmos.

I had the immense pleasure of speaking with Kit Murray Maloney of kitaralove.com about oh.. so many beautiful things.

Kit embodies the divine feminine spirit. She is passionate about connecting to her feminine wisdom and diving deeply into her truth.

She is committed to living with generous, authentic reverence for:

Over the past two decades, Kit has been an academic, entrepreneur, victim advocate, and pleasure activist. She earned a Masters degree in Gender and Social Policy from the London School of Economics and has been featured widely in the media, including Glamour, Self, and Bustle. Marie Claire named Kit an “Amazing Woman” for her work celebrating women’s sexuality.

After falling in love with the practice of vaginal/yoni steaming, Kit launched her most recent feminist venture, called Kitara, in the autumn of 2019.

Kitara makes beautifully designed, expertly crafted, and great value products for safe and easy in home vaginal/yoni steaming. Through Kitara, Kit also offers consultations and services to support folks on their yoni steaming paths for physical, emotional, and spiritual health and healing.  You can check out al Kitara’s products and services over at kitaralove.com

Kit’s dream for Kitara is to co-create, in community, a remembrance of womb wisdom and embodied sovereign health.

It is my pleasure to share our conversation with you here.

We covered:

  • How we can nourish and cultivate a practice of pleasure, sensuality, and sexuality during these chaotic, uncertain times. And how doing so, leads us away from patriarchy and white supremacy and toward true alignment with Source, deep healing for ourselves, and deep healing for the collective.
  • The history of yoni steaming and how to honor the cultures that can teach us how to bring this back into our own remembrance and our own life.
  • The healing power of yoni steaming as ritual that connects our bodies to all the elements of the earth, our own cycles and wisdom, and the cycles and wisdom of the cosmos.

Some beautiful moments that stood out for me include these quotes from Kit:

  • When asked where she experiences her own wild belonging: “It’s a re-remembrance of the truth that my orgasm holds tremendous wisdom, aliveness and connection to Source… and returning to it with devotion is really how I am connected to my alignment and integrity and being-ness in the world.”
  • “When I choose the tools I know to be truthful, that I know to be the tools, I believe, we need in dismantling patriarchy and supremacy modalities…those tools are compassion and love and those tools are sourced from the wisdom of the body. When we choose those tools, we align with a place that allows the flow and inter-connectivity that sees us all as one.”

What I would love to go into more depth with Kit next time:

  • Somatic body work and deep connection to our bodies, as KEY in healing trauma.
  • More about ancient yoni steaming practices (before the patriarchy squashed earth based spiritual practices and feminine wisdom).
  • More about using yoni steaming as support in transition through our cycles of Maiden-Mother-Crone.

So please gift yourself this listen.

And as always, peace in the journey,

Jane
