Practice: repeated exercise in or performance of an activity or skill so as to acquire or maintain proficiency in it.
Think about all the things you have “practiced” in your life. When you were a child and you were learning how to do anything, you needed to do it repeatedly in order to become skillful and proficient. If we are fortunate while growing up, we have access to music lessons, art lessons, dance, sport activities, wood working and crafts, cooking, learning a different language. The list goes on. None of what we learn and then apply with skill, proficiency and what it seems as “natural ability” comes without practice.
As we get older, we practice other things: how to meditate, the practice of yoga, how to run a household or a company, how to participate in community and social activities.Again, all of the skill acquired comes from practice.
