We are on the cusp of summer’s end and autumn’s beginning.
The time when the light changes, the air chills, and we are called to go inward, slow down, and light the fires that warm the soul.
The time to show gratitude for the fecund richness of summer and all the blessings we have reaped, seen and unseen, known and unknown.
The time when the veil between worlds, ever so subtly, thins.
And, if we are paying attention, this thinning veil shows us what is true, what is meant to be, what is available for us.
If we consider these secrets, hidden in-between worlds, with humility, curiosity and grace, we become privileged with the task to live in deep connection to our most holy selves. We come into deep reverence.
And living from this place of deep reverence we come to understand the gifts given to us and the gifts that we have a great responsibility to share.
Yes, it’s the time of year during which we are honored with the ability to see in the dark, and to follow wonder and magic and possibilities.
The time of year when we are invited into mystical encounters with ourselves, our ancestors, Mother Earth, the Divine Spirit and the Source of Love.
The kind of encounters that cause us to feel an undeniable urgency pushing us to live from our most wild, on-fire hearts and spirits. The kind of encounters that whisper to us of the things we risk losing if we do not live our life to the fullest.
It’s the time of year when we are invited to connect with, re-discover, and explore the voice of the Divine Spirit saying, “ Go this way… Here is your soul’s path… Here you will find your purpose, your heart and your greatest light.”
It’s the time of year that teaches us what we are meant to conjure up and manifest from our soul and deepest desires, and what we must let die in order to make room for the things that want to be born.
It’s the time of year when Mother Earth, in all Her loving, nurturing, powerful energy is inviting us to be guided by Her wisdom. Connected to Her life energy. Inspired by Her rhythms.
I have been finding great inspiration and renewed creative energy as I start preparing for my most favorite time of the year.
I have been practicing gratitude for how this summer has provided me with rich opportunities.
These opportunities have mostly consisted of connecting to loving, awake, magical women who have been fully present, graciously teaching me, witnessing my growth and transformation, helping me connect to my divine feminine spirit, and encouraging me to live from my most authentic heart and soul.
I am baptizing this autumn season as my “sacred autumn sabbatical”. My time to come into deep reverence, so that I may pay attention to the gifts I am responsible to share.
For me, this will be a time to pause from some of my commitments and intentionally use autumn’s energy and magic to stoke my inner fire, to deeply nurture my own soul, and to listen to the call of the wildest, most untamed and creative part of my heart and spirit.
To listen to the messages that teach me what I must let go of, what must die, so that new ideas, fresh energy and vibrancy can be seeded.
This autumn is all about harvesting and nurturing the seeds I find when I let my soul lead me, and living in such a way so that the seeds grow into new full blossoms as fall shifts into the new year.
Come early 2020, I will be letting you know about my new offerings and opportunities for clients and the community in which I live and work. I am excited to share more about this with you as 2020 approaches.
For now, I am inviting you to pause along with me. As summer ends and autumn begins, can this also be a sacred time for you?
Can you set some intentions to let go of some of the busyness that disconnects you from your soul?
Can you invite your soul to lead you into deep reverence for your gifts, your life, your most divine spirit?
Can you carve out some time to seek the things that inspire, nourish, and feed your soul so that you create the seeds for new growth?
I invite you, on the cusp of autumn, to take stock of what the year has meant to you so far and what it has asked of you.
Express prayers of gratitude.
Make your intentions known to the Divine Goddess, the Source of all unconditional love.
Light your fires.
Go within.
See between worlds.
Follow the wooded path, the water’s edge, the moonlit meadow.
Listen to the whisperings of your soul.
Your most meaningful, creative, and purposeful life is waiting for you.
I will close with the words of Danielle Dulsky:
“I won’t be begging you, but I wish you’d join me on my first graveyard walk of the season. We’ll leave at dusk on the last dark moon of summer, and the rising silver moonlight will lick the soft pink of the gloaming in just the right places. We’ll strip ourselves bare. We’ll be creatures of the hallowed evening and witches of the swelling spirit-lands. Every ancient incantation scratched on our bones will be visible through our skin, and our eyes will glow with a fire-lit brilliance that sparks and dims in rhythm with our heartbeats, that pulses in time with the old rhymes our hooded grannies beat on their drums, that illuminates the way forward even as we gather a sea of ghosts behind us.
Will you come, my truest friend?
We’ll whisper a final sunrise prayer to those who lie below, a bespoken vow to let this life of ours live us, to be dreamt into our greatest autumn incarnation by those who could only pray for the radical wildness we wake with now, and we’ll rejoin the realm of the most cunning creatures before that looming equinox swallows us all whole in shadows of oblivion and grace.
So, my most bewitching love, will you join me?”
In celebration as the seasons shift, and as always, offering you Peace in the Journey,
Jane
