“Change is not only inevitable, but always happening. When you truly embrace this concept of change being constant, the only thing left to do is grow, detach, venture inwards, touch the spirit and find your source- the one responsible for keeping you grounded through the ever-changing seasons of life.” Julie Weiland
My husband I have traditionally ended our summers by going to the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend. Always, our time there, helps me make the transition from summer to fall and prepare for embracing not only the change of season, but embracing change as an intrinsic part of life.
The transition from summer to fall seems to remind us each year of the importance of letting go and shifting our perspective. Fall reminds us that while summer’s beauty and aliveness seemed to be paramount, there are so many ways for beauty to unfold and be uniquely expressed. Fall’s magnificence reminds us that in letting go of one way of being, we open ourselves up to embrace unexpected beauty and growth.
Change nudges us, always, to find new ways to express our inner beauty and voice. It encourages us to let go of responses that no longer serve us, have proven to be ineffective and prevent true connection and deep belonging within ourselves and within our relationships. It invites us to strive to reach our fullest potential. All of nature flows without resistance to change; and because of nature’s “no resistance” policy, amazing beauty, growth and miracles unfold.
Perhaps as summer transitions to fall, you will be open to how change is nudging you and inviting you to grow and move closer to reaching your fullest potential. If you want to make profound and life sustaining change within yourself or your relationship, therapy can help support and guide this process. Please consider calling today for an appointment and make a commitment to letting go and new discoveries this fall.
