Who Am I:

I received my Masterʼs Degree from Pacific Lutheran University Marriage and Family Therapy program in 1998. And I have been practicing therapy ever since. I cannot imagine having a dif- ferent career because being a therapist is “in my bones”. Practicing therapy feels completely authentic to how I naturally think, see the world, experience and observe emotions in myself and others, and feel empathy and compassion when witnessing anotherʼs pain and struggles.

In 2015, I received my certification from the Couples Institute in Menlo Park California, for completing their internationally-respected training in the The Developmental Model for Couples. (www.couplesinstitute.com) This training taught me a core set of skills and principles I use with all of my clients. These skills and core principles allow me to work most effectively with even the most extremely distressed and disheartened couples.

My Strengths and Specialities Include:

20 years of experience and a personality that is naturally compassionate, empathetic and intuitive. I have been an observer, listener and encourager of others all of my life in many different roles: daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother and therapist.

My Clinical Specialities Include:

  • Addressing sexual issues from a sex positive and affirming stance (for couples and individuals).
  • Infidelity recovery.
  • Couples experiencing breast cancer.
  • Helping couples master the art of respectful, courageous and authentic communication.
  • Helping couples master the art of listening to the heart and soul of their partner.
  • Helping couples develop compassion and empathy for each other even when they are in conflict.
  • Teaching couples how to heal from past hurts, envision the relationship they truly desire and transform their pain and misunderstandings into a vibrant, fulfilling and deeply satisfying relationship.

I Help Couples Create Relationships of …

  • Sexual vibrancy, authenticity and fulfillment
  • Intimacy (physical and emotional)
  • Respect and curiosity
  • Secure attachment balanced with energized organic eroticism
  • Balance. Helping couples have time for nurturing their relationship together and also time for each partner to grow as an individual.

Speed Questions:

  • Coffee or Tea? Coffee!! Organic French Roast, strong and served with room for cream
  • Cats or Dogs? Dogs (Basset Hounds to be exact)
  • Favorite Comfort Food: Anything Hungarian; especially when served with mashed paotatoes
  • Favorite Movie of All Time: Ordinary People with Mary Tyler Moore, Donald Sutherland and Timothy Hutton, Judd Hirsch. This movie convinced me to be a therapist
  • Favorite Book: Women Who Run With the Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. This book guided me into living my authentic life.
  • Hero or Heroine: My mother and my aunt. Both had breast cancer; Each of them had very different life stories that taught me a lot about being a strong woman. Both were courageous and beautiful.
